About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide total nursing care for assigned patients, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, to ensure quality care.
  • Screen and prioritize patients with regard to medical problems, ensuring timely treatment delivery per physician orders and established policies.
  • Assist with inpatient/clinic coordination and flow of patients, including patient treatments and discharge activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures that impact nursing processes and ensure compliance.
  • Identify and meet educational needs of patients and families by communicating and distributing information as needed.
  • Participate in community outreach activities, such as health fairs and community collaborations, as assigned.
  • Assist with precepting new employees and students as directed by supervisor.
  • Complete written and computer documentation according to established procedures and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing and/or licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, or have a valid Compact LVN License.
  • Must have a current, valid LVN license or temporary LVN license from the Texas Board of Nursing; or, a valid Compact LVN license.
  • Must have a current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
