POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer who is enthusiastic about creating resilient applications utilizing the Java ecosystem, event-driven microservices, and industry best practices. You will collaborate within a dynamic team on a groundbreaking project that encompasses the complete delivery of the solution. The ideal candidate will thrive in an Agile environment, actively engaging in planning sessions and daily stand-ups. Your contributions will be vital in collaborative project teams, aiding in the design and development of critical enterprise-level systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the shared application development platform across multiple deployments, both internally and within client networks.
  • Design, implement, and test Infrastructure as Code (IAC) modifications to enhance application functionality and resolve issues.
  • Evaluate, modify, and enhance existing infrastructure services, including coding, testing, debugging, and installation within a large-scale environment.
  • Independently estimate development efforts for approved application changes, prioritize tasks, and facilitate peer reviews.
  • Analyze user requirements to establish business objectives.
  • Define application goals and ensure design alignment with business strategies.
  • Maintain documentation updates for configuration records and related management tools to track application modifications.
  • Prepare and manage software component releases.
  • Promote continuous improvement of solutions by exploring alternatives and presenting findings for architectural review.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in design and programming with Java/Spring/REST/Microservices or related infrastructure operations.
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IAC) automation using Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Familiarity with messaging and event streaming frameworks (e.g., JMS, Kafka).
  • Basic understanding of RESTful web services.
  • Knowledge of scalable application design principles.
  • Ability to create database schemas that support business processes.
  • Basic knowledge of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) and its operational characteristics.
  • Hands-on experience with version control and build tools, such as Git and Maven.
  • Experience with continuous integration tools like FluxCD.
  • Experience in a Public Sector environment, specifically in IL2/5 settings.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • AWS Certified Developer - Associate or similar certifications.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification is required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with U.S. Public Sector clients, particularly DHS or DOD.
  • Possession of a DoD Security Clearance.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This position typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule; however, due to the nature of our operations, on-call support may be required outside of regular hours, including weekends and holidays, on a rotational basis.

This role requires a background check and may necessitate a Department of Defense security clearance. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required checks.
