We are seeking a highly skilled Kiln/Boiler Operator to join our team at Kennebec Lumber Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining our dry kilns and boiler, ensuring the efficient and safe drying of lumber.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain dry kilns and boiler to ensure efficient and safe drying of lumber
- Conduct daily sampling and testing to determine moisture content and drying rate
- Load and unload kilns using a forklift, and perform routine maintenance tasks
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for the kiln and boiler area
- Collaborate with the KLC Management Team to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in kiln operation and maintenance preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
The Kiln/Boiler Operator will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to loud noises, dust, and other hazardous materials. The successful candidate must be able to work safely and efficiently in this environment.
