About the Role

We're seeking a self-motivated Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our Head Start/Early Head Start classrooms and premises. As a key member of our facilities team, you'll be responsible for:

  • Cleaning and Maintenance
    • Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of classrooms and common areas
    • Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs
  • Grounds Keeping
    • Maintaining the safety and appearance of our grounds, including debris removal and landscaping
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Working effectively with teachers, staff, children, and parents to ensure a safe and healthy environment

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • At least one year of experience in housekeeping/custodial work and maintenance
  • Skills and Certifications
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively
    • Basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems
    • Ability to obtain certification in plumbing, HVAC, and basic electrical equipment
    • Ability to become CPR certified
  • Personal Qualities
    • Excellent communication and written skills
    • Ability to work positively with diverse groups and individuals
