Position Overview:

The Ruhlin Company is in search of skilled Highway Lighting Supervisors to join our Civil Division, specifically within the Highway Lighting sector. We are committed to excellence and are looking for individuals who share our values.


Role Summary:

As a frontline supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a dedicated team of workers at highway lighting and traffic control signalization job sites.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Administrative Duties:
    Maintain accurate records through data entry, documentation, and report generation. Ensure all paperwork is organized and up to date.
  • Cost Management:
    Monitor work hours to guarantee proper employee compensation and assign appropriate phase codes in HCSS.
  • General Oversight:
    Guide daily activities of team members in alignment with contractual obligations and company policies regarding safety and quality.
  • Resource Management:
    Ensure the availability of necessary tools and materials for team tasks.
  • Collaboration:
    Engage regularly with superintendents and general foremen to receive directives and provide updates on crew performance and material needs.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    Assist in the upkeep of company equipment through routine maintenance checks.
  • Meetings and Training:
    Participate in project meetings and conduct safety training sessions as required.
  • Employee Relations:
    Address any workforce issues promptly and maintain a respectful work environment.
  • Safety Accountability:
    Ensure compliance with safety protocols and foster a culture of safety among team members.
  • Talent Development:
    Support the recruitment and training of new employees, ensuring equal treatment for all candidates.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Experience in the installation of lighting systems and related infrastructure is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the materials and methods used in highway lighting and traffic control projects.
  • OSHA 30 certification is required.
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Technician certification is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and maintain positive relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Capability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies relevant to the role.
  • Strong administrative skills, including data management.
