School Nurse Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a School Registered Nurse. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of students in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct school nursing services to promote prevention, medical management, and academics.
- Assess and evaluate the health and developmental status of students to make informed nursing diagnoses and establish priorities for action.
- Interpret health and developmental status to school personnel, parents, and students as appropriate.
- Develop and implement health education programs in collaboration with faculty members.
- Provide parent education related to student needs and participate in the development of Health Plans.
- Provide care, delegate, and teach care to others under the established plan of care, following the direction of a physician, nursing supervisor, school designee, and/or parent.
- Attend continuing education programs as required by licensure and participate in Aveanna in-servicing and training.
- Exhibit behavior supporting and promoting students' rights and overall well-being.
- Follow Aveanna and school board policies and procedures affecting the health, safety, and well-being of students in the school health setting.
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures.
- Pediatrics experience.
- Leadership skills.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Good organization and communication skills.
- Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English.
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting.
- Ability to sit and climb stairs.
- Visual and hearing acuity.
- Strong sense of smell and touch.
- Ability to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
- Ability to function in a wide variety of environments, which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions.
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
