Position Overview:

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for overseeing engineering activities on designated projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs systems engineering functions including requirement assessments, functional evaluations, design solution development, systems analysis, and maintenance of architectural documentation.
  • Utilizes engineering principles to convert defined needs into performance metrics and identifies system configurations.
  • Creates and disseminates engineering documentation, processes, and timelines.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the Systems Engineering Management Process as it pertains to the Department of Army/DOD Acquisition throughout all phases of the lifecycle.
  • Understands DOD regulations on Systems Engineering, Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD), and IPT Management.
  • Coordinates and negotiates design and engineering tasks with related programs and entities, providing expert guidance on critical technologies.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert for all technical dimensions of the assigned project.
  • Conducts high-level design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Translates military operational requirements into feasible system concepts and performance criteria.
  • Develops and maintains essential technical documentation, including specifications, engineering drawings, system interface requirements, and modifications.
  • Engages in post-award evaluations, program assessments, design reviews, and IPTs as the lead engineer or technical authority on assigned projects.
  • Assesses design initiatives to ensure comprehensive integration of engineering disciplines and adequacy of analyses, involving additional technical expertise as necessary.
  • Reviews testing protocols, procedures, and reports for technical soundness on assigned projects, including both Government and contractor evaluations, as well as failure reports.
  • Monitors system performance against specification requirements, evaluates field performance, and assesses risks related to user and specification needs.
  • Initiates engineering change proposals and waivers as needed, conducting physical and functional configuration audits.
  • Reviews project management documents to ensure technical content accuracy and sufficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the sensitive nature of customer requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Must possess a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Recognized expert in Systems Engineering with the capability to lead engineering initiatives with minimal oversight.
  • Equivalent experience in line with DAWIA Level II SPRDE certification is acceptable.
