Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for customer projects, ensuring adherence to specifications while developing comprehensive project plans and timelines across various departments.
  • Contribute innovative solutions to expand Morrison's product range and enhance existing offerings and processes.
  • Create electrical schematics utilizing AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Design and develop PLC, Advanced Motion, and HMI programs from the ground up for a variety of Allen Bradley Controllers, new equipment prototypes, and to support assembly area testing.
  • Establish and uphold project timelines and budgets.
  • Formulate new Standard Electrical Designs for new machinery and apply existing designs for standard equipment.
  • Develop software for robotic systems.
  • Oversee the panel building process in the shop and conduct daily progress reviews.
  • Design and integrate vision systems for applications such as orientation and feature detection using various vision tools.
  • Engage with customers regularly to discuss project plans, share integration details, and develop installation strategies.
  • Prepare project documentation for customers, including Operator Manuals, User Manuals, and One Point Lessons.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites for startups, installations, or to address field issues, which may involve integrating new equipment with existing customer systems and supervising installation electricians.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly in both verbal and written formats.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in electrical design that meets UL standards.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis for equipment and processes.
  • Oversee installation, startup, and commissioning phases of projects.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering design is highly preferred.
  • Possess a strong desire to succeed as part of a team, contribute positively to company culture, and demonstrate persistence in delivering quality results for customers.
  • Exhibit proficient knowledge of engineering science and technology principles, techniques, and procedures relevant to the design and production of Morrison products.
  • Experience with Cyclic Rotary Motion is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet/IP networks in an automation context is a plus.
  • Ability to identify problems, apply data-driven troubleshooting methods, and collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Understanding of business and management principles related to strategic planning, production methods, and resource coordination.
