Critical Care Nurse

As a leader of the healthcare team, this Registered Nurse will provide professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate performance consistent with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan of the organization. This role requires flexibility, quality, and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice, as well as treating co-workers, patients, families, and all members of the healthcare team with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership: The Registered Nurse will serve as a leader of the healthcare team, delegating tasks appropriately and demonstrating accountability. They will understand their own and team members' scope of practice and escalate issues as necessary.
- Nursing Process: The Registered Nurse will develop and/or contribute to the individualized plan of care, ensuring it reflects assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating outcomes. They will ensure the plan is discussed with the patient, family/significant others, and completed in a timely manner.
- Documentation: The Registered Nurse will chart accurately, legibly, dated, and timed, with documentation reflecting the nursing process and interventions. They will utilize computer systems effectively and efficiently for optimal patient care.
- Clinical Outcomes: The Registered Nurse will discuss patient findings and progress toward outcomes with physicians and other members of the healthcare team. They will demonstrate competencies during the probationary period and ongoing completion by departmental competency validation.
- Experience: 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in Critical Care, or successful completion of a KP Critical Care course or approved equivalent within prior 12 months.
- License, Certification, Registration: Registered Nurse License (California), Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
