We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to join our team at Amazon. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the world's largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure.

- Investigate and resolve complex Linux server issues.
- Troubleshoot XEN service virtualization problems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across systems, networking, and power/mechanical domains.
- Remediate physical layer outages in systems and networks, including power-related problems.
- Participate in data center power and cooling events.
- Work rotating shifts to meet 24/7 on-call requirements.
- Install and configure server racks per internal SLAs.
- Triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in the assigned region.
- Act as the data center point of contact for high-severity issues.
- Replace server and network device parts as needed.
- Ensure correct rotation of spare parts.
- Contribute to uptime improvement metrics.
- Enforce Amazon's security best practices.
- Interact with third-party vendors, contractors, and remote hands/eyes.

Basic Qualifications- Fluency in English.
- Server Hardware Troubleshooting experience, including server booting (POST, BIOS, PXE, Kickstart, GRUB/LILO, RAID), network protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, L2/L3 technologies), and network hardware (copper/fiber cabling, switches, routers).
- Good Understanding of Linux/Unix Administration.
- Remote Access: Console routers, IPMI, BMC.
- Network Equipment Installation and Configuration.
- Redundancy: Power feeds, ATS, Server Hardware, RAID, Network Connectivity.
- Participated in Project Management.
- Scripting: Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby (or programming languages).
