Field Service Specialist

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. is seeking a dedicated Field Service Specialist to enhance our team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary service repair liaison for our valued customers within your designated region, while also being available for assignments in other areas as required. Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate effective communication between clients and internal departments to ensure successful project completion and increase service labor sales.
  • Leverage various software tools and resources to execute tasks, utilizing technical manuals and schematics.
  • Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify repair needs, communicate findings, and perform necessary repairs.
  • Test machinery post-repair to verify functionality and compliance with standards.
  • Maintain the service vehicle, tools, and inventory in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed about RMS and competitor offerings through ongoing training and education.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Field Service Technician with an OEM Heavy Equipment Distributor.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze information and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficient in hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting, along with heavy equipment repair.
  • Experienced in operating diagnostic vehicles and equipment.
  • Possess a valid CDL driver's license with a clean driving record, and successfully pass required drug and fitness tests.
  • Capable of completing documentation and reports efficiently while utilizing standard computer applications.
  • Open to new technologies and procedures, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential overnight travel.
  • Ability to work safely and responsibly, demonstrating initiative and a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
