Histology Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technician to join our team at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. As a Histology Technician, you will play a critical role in preparing tissue samples for the Pathologist to review.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare tissue samples for histological examination by cutting, staining, and embedding them in paraffin blocks.
- Operate a microtome to section paraffin blocks and produce high-quality slides for routine and special staining procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all tests performed, including variance forms, process specimen logs, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Communicate with the Pathologist and other laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate results.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards for embedding quality cassettes and cutting quality slides.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience as a Histology Technician or successful completion of the Inova Histology Tech Trainee program.
- ASCP HT/HTL certification is preferred but not required.
