IT Junior Systems Administrator Role

As a key member of the IT team, the IT Junior Systems Administrator will be responsible for the effective administration of infrastructure, network, and desktop support tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain IT systems, including client, server, storage, network, and mobile devices.
  • Provide hands-on technical support, maintain accurate asset records, and ensure timely resolution of hardware and software issues.
  • Offer direct customer support via helpdesk services and contribute to larger IT infrastructure projects.
  • Set-up and configure new hardware and software for end users, ensuring systems are operational and fully integrated.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with PCs, mobile devices, printers, phones, and peripheral equipment.
  • Administer and troubleshoot email services, including configuring new accounts, resetting passwords, and resolving login and profile issues.
  • Manage permissions and user roles within email platforms, ensuring security compliance.
  • Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory, licensing, and contract records.
  • Provide proactive alerts for expiring licenses or agreements, ensuring seamless renewals or upgrades.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in the administration and support of Microsoft Windows platforms, including Windows servers and operating systems.
  • Two-year technical degree desired with a focus in computer science or engineering or three or more years of professional experience serving in a systems administration role.
  • Office365 experience a plus.
  • PC and mobile device configuration and troubleshooting skills/experience required.
  • Experience in the administration of Active Directory group policies, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Basic virtualization administration skills/experience.
