**Job Description:**
- Be flexible with work hours to meet department needs; dependable, accountable, and cooperative.
- Provide safe, age-appropriate care to patients by performing all exams according to department procedures.
- Obtain quality diagnostic studies independently, utilizing radiographic equipment with independent judgment and ingenuity.
- Set up equipment to provide imaging services and position patients for procedures.
- Work with students during their clinical rotation.

**Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:**
- Obtain complete clinical history and assess for contraindicating conditions.
- Follow established procedures for administration of contrast media to prevent patient deterioration or discomfort.
- Ensure proper patient identification and use of right and left markers.
- Review radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and release patients.
- Respond to emergencies and maintain life-support equipment if needed.
- Verify two unique patient identifiers and correct clinical order before performing procedures.
- Ensure patient's privacy and comfort, demonstrating competence based on patient age.
- Organize schedule, time, and priorities to accomplish required activities within designated time frames.
- Use critical thinking skills to clarify and seek clarification on ambiguous orders.
- Document pre-procedural verification and Time Out process when applicable.
- Demonstrate and understand pre-and-post procedural care, sterile technique, and maintain venipuncture competency where applicable.
- Adjust technique to ensure the lowest possible dose of ionizing radiation while maintaining image quality.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to a supervisor or service provider.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment per infection control policy.
- Explain and clarify exam procedures to patients for minimizing anxiety and facilitating cooperation using AIDET; Acknowledge, Introduce, Discuss, Explain, and Thank you.
- Address patient questions, concerns, or contraindications to the physician if not accomplished.
- Participate in orientation and training of departmental employees.
- Provide preparatory instructions and explanations to patients.
- Consistently produce high-quality images and ensure equipment is operational.
- Restock linens and supplies, maintain a clean and orderly Diagnostic Imaging Services.
- Transport, position, and assist patients on and off procedure table.
- Perform patient charging activities on the day service is rendered.
- Apply shielding, supportive and immobilization devices and equipment.
- Assist others upon request routinely to maximize departmental efficiency.
- Perform routine clerical and support personnel duties when needed.
- Keep informed of responsibilities and promptly notify of any problems.
- Maintain individual productivity rate and comply with regulatory agency standards.
- Transfer/retrieve images on PACS system.
- Take call duties as necessary.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
