Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Route Sales Representative to join our team at Herr Foods. As a key member of our sales and distribution team, you will be responsible for selling, delivering, and merchandising our snack food products to grocery retail and independent chain stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Customer Service: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers at our customer stores, providing excellent customer service and ensuring that our products are displayed and merchandised effectively.
  • Product Delivery and Inventory Management: Safely drive a step-van delivery truck to deliver and stock our products at customer stores, while also managing daily inventory levels and rotating stock to ensure freshness.
  • Order Processing and Cash Handling: Process orders by entering product codes into hand-held computers, collect cash from customers, and accurately process associated invoices.
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Safety: Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle safety inspections and maintain a clean and well-maintained truck.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least 2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or a related field.
  • Driving Record and License: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to constantly reach, frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, climb, drive, and lift up to 32 pounds, and occasionally lift and carry up to 48 pounds and push or pull up to 40 pounds.
