As a key member of TANGObuilder, the Principal Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of structural engineering software solutions. This position is designed for an experienced professional who is passionate about delivering innovative engineering services to the AEC community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver comprehensive design, specifications, plans, and reports while ensuring project execution aligns with established schedules and budgets.
2. Oversee the preparation and completion of construction documents and reports, demonstrating proficiency across all project phases including planning, design, and construction.
3. Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring effective collaboration with architects and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Mentor and develop junior engineers, offering technical training and support on assigned projects.
5. Assess project outcomes, identifying successes and areas for improvement upon completion.
6. Engage in business development initiatives, fostering strong client relationships in collaboration with the Marketing and Sales teams.
7. Collaborate with project teams and clients to refine project proposals and participate in interviews.
8. Utilize the TANGObuilder platform actively, contributing to the evolution of core structural engineering processes.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Valid California PE or SE license.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural and seismic engineering.
- At least 5 years of project management experience within the California residential sector or in seismic upgrades.
- A minimum of 3 years in a leadership role managing technical staff.
- Exceptional communication, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and version control systems like Gitlab.
