Position Overview: As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees the financial operations of the organization, providing leadership and guidance to fiscal activities that align with and promote the mission, objectives, growth, and long-term financial sustainability of the agency. The CFO also fulfills the roles of Corporate Compliance Officer and Treasurer.
Work Schedule: Standard business hours, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial planning, analysis, and strategy execution of the organization through effective management of accounting and finance functions, contract oversight, procurement, real estate, investment management, and budget administration.
- Supervise Finance Department personnel, ensuring adherence to performance standards and compliance with contract requirements, standard accounting practices, relevant regulations, and the agency's mission and objectives.
- Serve as a principal advisor to the CEO and Board, providing strategic insights and leadership on treasury functions, growth opportunities, debt management, and overall financial strategy to ensure the agency's long-term financial health.
- Engage in strategic and operational planning, contributing financial insights, forecasting, and budgeting expertise to the process. Ensure the establishment of a plan to achieve strategic financial goals and outcome reporting.
- Oversee the performance and integration of financial systems and accounting processes, including accounts receivable/accounts payable, cash management, and general ledger functions. Conduct annual reviews of financial controls and update agency policies and procedures as necessary.
- Establish and maintain regular reporting on financial performance, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring that the Board and CEO are informed of organizational financial status in relation to established objectives. Collaborate with department heads to ensure relevant financial information is communicated and understood.
- Manage the annual budgeting process in conjunction with senior managers and the Executive team. Regularly monitor budget performance and oversee modifications to operating and restricted funds.
- Oversee banking relationships and evaluate investment performance, exploring opportunities for loan consolidation, refinancing, and other beneficial financial options.
- Prepare for and facilitate the annual audit, ensuring completion of any audit recommendations.
- Complete all necessary regulatory financial reporting and ensure compliance with filing requirements.
- Oversee contract management, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Direct the Purchasing and supply chain operations within the Finance Department to establish a procurement strategy that effectively identifies and manages the agency's procurement needs.
- Chair the Corporate Compliance Committee, guiding the organization toward full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance and Accounting, or Certified Public Accountant designation.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing the finance department of a large, multifaceted organization.
- At least 3 years of financial management experience within the non-profit sector, including experience with state, federal, and private funding contracts and grants, uniform financial reporting, and tax compliance.

- Exceptional problem-solving, leadership, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent numerical proficiency.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in utilizing technology and software to enhance financial operations.
