Join Our Team as a Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our interdisciplinary team at Eastern Iowa Rehabilitation Hospital. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our hospital's mission to maximize the health, function, and quality of life of those we serve.

About the Role

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for providing patient care considering the needs specific to the standard of care for patients' ages, including geriatric and general inpatient rehabilitation patients. You will work under the supervision of the R.N. to assess patients, identify and initiate appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions, and carry out the plan of care as indicated by patients' needs and responses to treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and identify appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions
  • Carry out the plan of care as indicated by patients' needs and responses to treatment
  • Interact professionally with patients/family and involve patients/family in the formation of the plan of care
  • Demonstrate ability to adequately assess and reassess pain and utilize appropriate pain management techniques
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Graduate of accredited licensed practical/vocational nurse program
  • Current state licensure as Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse
  • CPR/BCLS certification. ACLS preferred
  • IV Certified required or obtained within 6 months highly preferred
  • Minimum six months' Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting assigned
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
