Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and culturally sensitive Registered Nurse to join our team in a clinic ambulatory float position. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting, supporting the Mercyhealth nursing mission and practice values.

Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, and procedures.
  • Document patient care according to standards of care.
  • Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care based on individualized patient needs, as prescribed by physicians and/or clinic policy.
  • Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
  • Utilize clinical expertise and guidance to support other units and departments in the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
  • Utilize critical thinking to ensure patient safety and patient experience, escalating concerns to the appropriate chain of command as needed.
  • Participate in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities, and peer review process.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • BSN or completion agreement for enrollment in an accredited BSN Completion Program (ADN required for certain locations).
  • 12 months of RN experience required.
  • Licensed as an RN in the state of practice.
  • Approved CPR certification within 90 days.
  • 10 hours of continued education.
Physical Demands

This role requires regular standing, walking, and use of hands to perform job duties. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
