Key Responsibilities:- Deliver reference assistance and suggest resources across diverse formats
- Partner with the Youth Educational Services Department to design and implement engaging programs for young adults
- Curate and oversee the Young Adult collection to maintain its relevance and inclusivity
- Encourage young adults to utilize library resources and technology to improve digital literacy
- Establish collaborations with community organizations and educational institutions to promote library offerings
- Ensure the young adult area is inviting and stocked with pertinent materials
- Support library operations and staff management in the absence of the Library Manager
- Stay updated on trends in young adult literature and educational requirements
- Master's degree in Library and Information Studies
- Public Librarian's Professional Certificate issued by the State of New York
- Experience in developing innovative programs for young adults
- Familiarity with young adult literature and collection management
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong organizational skills and technological proficiency
- Knowledge of emerging library technologies relevant to young adults
- Resourceful and helpful in addressing challenges
- Curious and inclusive in all professional endeavors
- Public service library setting
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Capability to sit and stand for extended durations
- Regular use of computers
- 35 hours per week during branch operational hours
