Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Avid Technology Professionals. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the design, development, and implementation of large-scale cybersecurity systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of cybersecurity systems.
  • Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and end-users to understand requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, architecture diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in cybersecurity and cloud engineering, and apply this knowledge to improve our systems and processes.
  • Work closely with our DevOps team to ensure smooth deployment and operation of our systems.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on cybersecurity and cloud engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience with Google Cloud deployment and management tools.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience successfully leading large teams.
  • Ability to effectively work as a leader, in a group, or as an independent individual contributor.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment in a leadership role.
  • Possesses or quickly develops a comprehensive understanding of Government Information Security policies, regulations, and guidelines.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience crafting and actively managing a Google Cloud environment.
  • Experience leading teams and projects at either the tech lead or product owner level.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, Git, Ansible, Chef, AWS lambda, terraform or cloud native tools like cloudformation.
  • Programming experience (Java, Javascript,.Net, Python, or Ruby).
  • Familiarity with using, updating, and programmatically manipulating Linux and Windows.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field. Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree level education.
