We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team at South Shore Health. As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care in the pre-hospital environment, responding to requests for ALS intervention, and performing other duties related to the provision of care and development of the community EMS system.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to requests for paramedic services in a timely and safe manner, adhering to Massachusetts laws and regulations.
- Complete documentation and records accurately, including run reports, vehicle/equipment checklists, and patient charges.
- Ensure vehicle and equipment are ready for response at all times, including restocking, cleaning, and maintaining fuel and fluids.
- Rend pre-hospital medical care at the paramedic level, including patient assessments, treatment protocols, and radio communication.
- Perform assigned duties in the emergency department under the supervision of ED physicians, including assisting with 12 Lead EKGs, blood draws, and IV insertions.
- Act as a team leader in emergency responses, directing EMTs and other medical personnel, and interacting with local EMTs and public safety personnel.
- Pursue new levels in Paramedicine technology and participate in activities contributing to professional growth and development.
- Participate in community activities improving the public's understanding of the EMS system, representing South Shore Health and the Department of Paramedic Services in a positive and professional manner.
- Successful completion of the Community Paramedic class and clinical portion.
- Prior experience as a provider of pre-hospital care in an emergency setting, with critical care experience preferred.
- Verification of an acceptable motor vehicle driving record, with annual verification required thereafter.
- Required licenses and certifications, including ACLS, BLS, and EMT-P.
Two 12-hour shifts, Wednesday to Friday, 9am to 9pm.
