Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Advocacy:
Actively prioritize safety for yourself and your colleagues, ensuring that all assigned facilities achieve zero accidents and adhere to all Vulcan policies and regulations.
2. Employee Engagement:
Provide effective leadership, training, and team-building initiatives to all operational staff in your area, supporting the overall operational objectives of the organization.

Formulate short and long-term business strategies and actionable plans to achieve them.
Develop an annual operating budget that outlines production volumes and capital enhancements.
Collaborate with sales and operations teams to enhance revenue and market presence.
5. Process Optimization:
Lead process improvement initiatives for assigned facilities to meet productivity and efficiency targets.
Establish and assess performance metrics for technical support teams.
6. Financial Oversight:
Manage the annual budgeting process, ensuring that assigned facilities meet or exceed financial targets and improve asset returns.
Direct the capital budget for each site to ensure that all capital projects align with financial projections.
7. Leadership and Mentorship:
Exhibit strong leadership qualities by motivating and mentoring all team members.
Set performance benchmarks for employees and monitor their progress.
Additional Duties:
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills:
1. Experience: A minimum of 5 years in the industry (aggregates, ready-mix concrete, and asphalt) with a proven track record of progressive responsibility and successful operations management is preferred.
2. Leadership and Management: Demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership and guidance to employees, fostering motivation and maintaining positive interpersonal relationships.
3. Operational Acumen: Knowledge of rock and sand mining, ready-mix concrete, and/or asphalt operations and equipment, along with familiarity with MSHA regulations, engineering principles, and quality control systems.
4. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent motivator and team builder, capable of establishing strong relationships and effectively communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.
5. Financial Proficiency: Experience in managing financial performance to meet established targets and exceed performance goals.
