We are seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN to join our team at Thomas Health - Thomas Memorial Hospital. This role requires a strong background in critical care nursing, particularly in telemetry and stepdown units.
Certification Requirements- Mandatory Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Common Drips: Insulin, Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone, Low dose Dopamine
The selected candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care in a hospital setting. Key responsibilities include:
- Floating to ICU or Stepdown as needed, requiring an ICU skill set.
- Utilizing critical care experience of 1-2 years.
- Managing Bipap, Cpap, Mechanical Ventilation, telemetry, critical drips, and post-cardiac catheterization care.
- Preferred experience with CRRT and IABP.
- Titrating drips as required.
- Work schedule includes every other weekend and rotational holiday shifts.
- Orientation consists of general hospital training, nursing orientation, and hands-on training with a preceptor.
- Expect to complete four 12-hour shifts per week, rotating weekends and major holidays.
This position is located in the PCU - Stepdown unit, which includes:
- Bed Capacity: 11 beds, expanding to 12.
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients.
- Common Patient Diagnoses: Post-operative vascular cases, stable cardiac dysrhythmias, CVA, Sepsis, Renal patients, stable acute MI, unstable angina, and post-cardiac catheterization.
- Support Staff: Charge Nurse and House Supervisor available 24/7.
- Assistive Personnel: One PCT (C.N.A) for every 10 patients, with nurses assisting in general care.
The unit is equipped with:
- Cpap, Bipap, High flow O2, Mechanical ventilation via Tracheostomy, specialty beds, and IV pumps.
- 24/7 Monitor Tech for telemetry.
Travel staff may be required to float to Med-Surg Telemetry or the Emergency Department as necessary.
Dress CodeScrubs must be solid colors without embroidery or patterns. Specific colors are designated for different roles within the unit.
