Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at Away Staffing Services, Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare materials for production by cleaning, unwrapping, and identifying them.
- Deliver materials to machines in a timely and safe manner.
- Monitor machines and supply materials as needed to prevent downtime.
- Record and document inspections of materials accurately and neatly.
- Record and document usage and assignment of all materials.
- Retrieve carts, unused materials, rejected materials, and other items as needed.
- Properly wrap, weigh, and identify unused or rejected materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
- Complete and maintain forklift operator certification.
- Operate and drive forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Record and document forklift inspections each shift.
- Report safety and process problems to supervisors immediately.
- Organize time to minimize downtime and maximize production.
- Use and wear required safety devices and comply with safety regulations.
- Adhere to personal clothing, cleanliness, and hair covering requirements.
- Report food packaging safety problems to plant management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or production environment preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
