As a key member of the Technical Services team, the Field Service Engineer will be responsible for delivering exceptional support to clients in the areas of installation, maintenance, and training on advanced welding machinery. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background, a passion for customer service, and a willingness to travel extensively. Meeting and exceeding client expectations is the foremost goal of our Technical Services division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and provide training on AMI orbital welding systems and their components, including power units, welding heads, cooling systems, remote controls, and digital displays.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment by applying expertise in electromechanical systems.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports outlining equipment issues and deviations from standard specifications.
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance, as well as calibration of client machinery.
- Engage with customers, engineers, and technical staff to troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Exhibit excellent time management skills to coordinate travel plans that align with customer requirements.
- Prioritize safety to minimize industrial risks and hazards.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support organizational goals.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering technology or have 3-5 years of relevant experience; a combination of education and experience is acceptable. Familiarity with AMI equipment is advantageous.
- Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, electrical schematics, and service procedures.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Dynamics.
- Be self-driven, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a dynamic work environment.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks effectively to ensure successful outcomes.
- Position requires remaining stationary for approximately 50% of the time, with additional physical activities such as climbing stairs, walking, bending, and standing.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory when visiting manufacturing sites.
- Regular use of computers and office equipment is required.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and maneuver products weighing up to 200 lbs with appropriate safety tools.
- Travel may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Domestic and international travel may be necessary to support engineering and sales initiatives, potentially up to 50% of the time.
