Job Overview

Charlie's Produce is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Produce Merchandiser to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our produce displays and shelves meet the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Rotate produce on displays and shelves to ensure optimal freshness and quality.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor with customers and store personnel at all times.
  • Ensure schematics and maintain shelf/cooler cleanliness.
  • Conduct customer needs assessments and report to the sales manager via email.
  • Perform weekly store price audits.
  • Evaluate overall customer satisfaction and report to the sales manager via email.
  • Follow instructions provided by the sales manager and be flexible to meet the needs of our business.
  • Make impromptu store visits and work with customers to schedule.
  • Work independently and under time constraints, communicating issues as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with other staff to resolve order issues and concerns.
  • Communicate professionally with produce managers, store owners, and other employees.
  • Attend all sales meetings.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of retail, wholesale, and produce industries.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with customers and store personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and drive results.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to react quickly to changing requirements.
  • Critical thinking skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Ability to see (depth perception, near acuity, and far acuity), drive a vehicle, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • At least two years of retail experience in the wholesale produce industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Safe driving record and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel 90% of the time.
