Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Scheduling Coordinator to join our team at Haywood Regional Medical Center. This individual will be responsible for scheduling all procedures for the Surgical Department, including the hospital, Outpatient Care Center, and Endoscopy department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule all procedures for the Surgical Department, including hospital, Outpatient Care Center, and Endoscopy department
  • Handle scheduling of same-day surgical procedures deemed urgent
  • Review surgery schedule with individual surgeon's office prior to scheduled surgery date to confirm
  • Answer and handle all incoming calls or direct them to appropriate party as necessary
  • Coordinate with other departments for scheduling of certain procedures
  • Maintain employee access for company-issued surgical scrubs
  • Handle billing of all surgical procedures, anesthesia, and related charges
  • Update internal sites with necessary information for Nursing Supervisors
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required
  • Medical experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in stressful environment and take appropriate action
