Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Marin Community Clinics. As a Triage Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and health advice to our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide culturally sensitive and patient-centered care to all patients
  • Assess and document patient questions or concerns and provide nursing advice using evidence-based triage protocols
  • Schedule follow-up appointments or refer to emergency services as needed
  • Collaborate with patients' primary care teams to coordinate follow-up care
  • Respond to patient requests for lab results, medical questions, and concerns regarding disease processes
  • Send medication refills per clinic protocol
  • Order medications such as emergency contraception per standardized procedure
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, revision, and evaluation of triage workflows
  • React in a positive manner to patient concerns; remain calm and display empathy
  • Work cooperatively with other staff and departments to problem resolve conflicts and improve workflow
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Participate in required meetings
Requirements
  • Associate or BA/BS degree required
  • Current California RN License in good standing
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • 3+ years of direct patient care experience required; community health and/or triage experience preferred
  • Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Records preferred
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is required
  • Strong enthusiasm and willingness to pitch in whenever needed
  • Works cohesively with other team members to achieve departmental goals
  • Good history-taking skills
  • Ability to make quick and accurate assessments
  • Ability to write accurate and complete documentation
  • Good organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication
  • Strong critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Functions well in a high-stress environment
  • Works well independently
Working Conditions
  • Prolonged periods of typing and sitting at a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
