Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Arkansas Heart Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing optimal nutritional care to our patients, coordinating food service activities, and developing policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Service Coordination: Coordinate food service activities, including diet preferences, supplements, restrictions, and basic diet instructions.
  • Patient Care: Assist in providing optimal nutritional care to patients, including evaluating the nutritional care of patients concurrently and retrospectively.
  • Menu Planning: Supervise the planning of daily menus for therapeutic diets.
  • Documentation: Document the medical records of all patients on therapeutic diets and others where feasible.
  • Counseling and Education: Interview and counsel patients, their families, and/or other appropriate persons on nutrition-related topics.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in ward rounds, conferences, committee, and staff meetings when appropriate.
  • Training and Development: Provide in-service training for nursing and medical staff.
  • Quality Assurance: Assist in maintaining good working relationships with physicians, professional nurses, related nursing services personnel, food service workers, and others.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition, which meets the standards established by the American Dietetic Association.
  • Registration: Must be registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Licensure: Must attain state licensure, as applicable.
  • Experience: Minimum of four years of food service supervision preferred, one year acute clinical hospital experience preferred.
