We are seeking a skilled and compassionate counselor to join our Academic Accommodations Center (AAC) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional support services to students with diverse needs, promoting inclusivity and accessibility on campus.

About the Role

This is an adjunct pool position, meaning that it is open on a continuous basis for department assignments throughout the fiscal year. If selected, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who share your passion for supporting students' academic success.

As a Counselor Adjunct, you will provide individualized counseling sessions, group workshops, and advocacy services to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed. Your expertise and dedication will make a tangible difference in the lives of our students, empowering them to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized counseling services to students with disabilities, including academic advising, career guidance, and personal support.
  • Develop and implement group workshops and programs to promote disability awareness, self-advocacy, and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to create accessible learning environments and promote inclusive practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to student services and program outcomes.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a master's degree in counseling or a related field, as well as a valid California teaching credential or license in counseling. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with students with disabilities is preferred, but not required.

You should also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential for this role, as well as a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with sensitive information.

Benefits

As a member of our team, you will enjoy a competitive salary range of $62,000 - $82,000 per year, depending on your level of experience and qualifications. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
