Culinary Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Pohai Nani, a not-for-profit organization providing housing and services to seniors in a Christian environment. As a key member of our dining services team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food to our residents, staff, and visitors.

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including baked goods, entrees, and desserts, following standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment, including mixers, slicers, kettles, combination ovens, and dishwashers, to ensure efficient and safe food preparation.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Work collaboratively with our culinary team to plan and execute menus, ensuring a diverse and appealing dining experience for our residents.
• Document food preparation, storage, and serving procedures, as well as maintain accurate records of food inventory and waste.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months of applicable experience in food preparation and cooking.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
• Basic math skills to accurately measure ingredients and portion food.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid Driver's License may be required, depending on location.
