Zoox is seeking a Lead Automation Solutions Engineer to enhance their Software Core Performance team. This position focuses on the automation of performance monitoring and analytical tools aimed at optimizing system performance metrics. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in software engineering and automation frameworks, particularly utilizing Python within a Linux environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Streamline and automate essential workflows and processes for the storage and analysis of performance data.
- Develop automated instrumentation for performance tools and frameworks to facilitate offline assessments of vehicle performance metrics.
- Design and implement tools and scripts for large-scale performance evaluation and analysis within continuous integration.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration to integrate performance tools with continuous integration and release management workflows.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in software development or a related discipline, with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar field.
- Proficient in designing and implementing automation pipelines using Python in a Linux-based setting.
- Demonstrated experience in constructing continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Strong command of Python, familiarity with C++, and experience managing large codebases.
- Proficient in utilizing GitHub for version control and Jira for project tracking.
- History of automating testing and data workflows.
- Knowledgeable in the construction, testing, and deployment of software automation pipelines.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking throughout the software development lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Git and Bazel.
- Experience with various Linux performance monitoring tools.
- Understanding of software and hardware benchmarking, as well as Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems.
- Experience with efficient SQL queries and data management platforms.
