Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients, including bathing, showering, oral care, and feeding.
  • Collect and label specimens, perform enterostomal care, and administer medications as directed.
  • Work collaboratively with the RN and MD/DO to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in patient care conferences and provide input on nursing care plans.
  • Recognize and respond to emergency situations, including cardiac and pulmonary arrest.
  • Administer oxygen, enteral feedings, and provide wound care as ordered.
  • Use patient lifting devices, pressure relief mattresses, and other equipment to ensure patient safety.
  • Document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the RN and MD/DO.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved school of nursing and a current LPN license.
  • At least one year of experience as an LPN, with a focus on geriatric and adult patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet patient needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a clinical setting.
