Quality Engineer Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chair Material Review Board: Lead meetings to analyze non-conforming components, determine suitable dispositions, and implement process improvements.
  • Customer Complaint Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for advanced quality issues, investigating root causes and coordinating corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
  • Non-Conforming Material Oversight: Identify, segregate, and manage critical non-conforming materials, working with production and suppliers to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct Advanced Inspections: Perform thorough inspections throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with quality standards and recommending process enhancements as necessary.
  • Drive Quality Improvement Initiatives: Identify opportunities for quality enhancement and develop strategic initiatives to improve product and process quality.
  • Data Analysis and Trending: Utilize Microsoft Office and other analytical tools to analyze quality data, identify trends, and communicate findings to the team.
  • Lead Audits: Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop Quality Assurance Protocols: Create, implement, and maintain quality assurance procedures and documentation for all manufacturing processes.
  • Facilitate Process Improvement: Lead root cause problem-solving efforts and process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce defects.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a Quality Engineering role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive quality improvement initiatives effectively. Expert knowledge of advanced quality assurance methodologies, tools, and inspection equipment. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Certifications: Preferred certifications include Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA), and Lead Quality Auditor.
  • Language: Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards and their implementation.
  • Tools: Proficient in using Microsoft Office and other tools for data analysis and trending.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to meet physical requirements, including standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights.
