Job Summary

The College of Southern Nevada is seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Microbiology Instructor to join our faculty team. As a Microbiology Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching transferable, entry-level Microbiology lectures and/or laboratories, developing syllabi and course materials, and evaluating student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Microbiology lectures and/or laboratories to students, utilizing educational technologies such as Learning Management Systems and PowerPoint.
  • Develop and implement syllabi and course materials, as directed by the Lead Faculty Member and/or Lab Coordinator.
  • Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes, using a variety of assessment methods.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Biological Sciences or a closely related field from an accredited College or University.
  • Experience teaching Microbiology lectures, with a strong background in microbiology and education.
  • Ability to use educational technologies, such as Learning Management Systems and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
Compensation

The starting salary for this position is $925.00 per lecture credit hour, with credits varying by semester. The hourly rate for labs is $46.25.

Benefits

This is an exempt position, with a full-time equivalent of 15.0%.
