Job Summary:

As a Child Psychologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services for adult and/or child members. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan and direct each individual member's treatment program, ensuring comprehensive and effective care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical treatment programs for members with acute or chronic mental illness, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups, using evidence-based practices and tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs of each member.
  • Conduct psychological assessments, including test administration, interpretation, and recommendations, to inform treatment planning and ensure accurate diagnoses.
  • Prepare and maintain confidential records, charting members' treatment and progress in accordance with state and NCQA regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians in screening and evaluating patients for psychotropic medications, ensuring safe and effective treatment.
  • Develop and conduct psychoeducational classes and groups, promoting member engagement and empowerment.
  • Participate in departmental program development, implementation, and evaluation, contributing to the growth and improvement of mental health services.
Requirements:
  • PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited college or university.
  • Psychologist License (California) within 6 months of hire.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
  • Knowledge of DSM-V, evidence-based practices, and psychotherapy research methods.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership and commit to quality of service, teamwork, and participation in a highly interactive multidisciplinary clinic.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous clinical responsibility to include crisis intervention, individual, and group psychotherapy.
  • Demonstrated experience in psychological evaluations of adults, children, adolescents, and families, including administering and writing up psychological testing and assessment batteries.
  • Demonstrated professional maturity and ethical integrity necessary for assuming professional responsibilities.
