Job SummaryThis is an entry-level position that requires a strong commitment to public service and a passion for making a positive impact in our community. As a Police Officer Trainee, you will undergo comprehensive training and development to prepare you for a successful career in law enforcement.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol the city in a radio car and on foot to maintain public safety and respond to emergency calls.
- Enforce laws and regulations to protect life and property, and to maintain order in the community.
- Conduct investigations and gather evidence to solve crimes and bring perpetrators to justice.
- Interview witnesses, victims, and suspects to gather information and build cases.
- Participate in community outreach and education programs to build trust and foster positive relationships with the community.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien who is eligible and has applied for citizenship.
- Must be able to successfully complete a 1.5 mile run in 14 minutes or fewer.
- Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Must have an Associate Degree or have completed 60 semester units of college-level courses.
- Must possess a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Must provide verification of the following test results: POST Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB) with a T-score of 50 or higher, and California POST physical agility test (known as the Work Sample Test Battery (WSTB) with a score of 320 or higher.
This position requires work that may be strenuous and hazardous, including working rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
