Position Summary:
The Structured Cabling Project Supervisor will be responsible for managing and directing structured cabling initiatives within our organization. This role entails overseeing project execution, delivering technical guidance, and ensuring the effective installation of structured cabling infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate structured cabling projects from inception to completion.
* Lead installation teams in the deployment of structured cabling solutions.
* Provide technical assistance to clients and address any arising challenges.
* Uphold high standards of quality assurance for all cabling projects.
* Ensure timely and budget-conscious project delivery.
Essential Duties:
* Construct telecommunications closets.
* Install cable support frameworks, including cable trays, j-hooks, and ladder racks.
* Deploy Cat 6 horizontal station cabling, backbone cabling, fiber optic cabling, and inner duct systems.
* Implement specialized systems such as security, surveillance, audio-visual, and access control.
* Terminate Cat 6/5 and coaxial cables.
* Utilize a Fluke tester for copper and fiber cable testing.
* Troubleshoot cabling issues effectively.
* Operate ladders and power tools safely.
* Lift, carry, and set up equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
* Work efficiently under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience as a Structured Cabling Supervisor or in a comparable position.
* In-depth knowledge of structured cabling systems, including both copper and fiber optic technologies.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and schematics.
* Strong leadership, communication, and customer service abilities.
* Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
* Willingness to travel as required.
