Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mobile Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at the Oklahoma Blood Institute. As a key member of our blood collection team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional donor care and ensuring the safe and efficient collection of blood products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform registration, vital signs, medical screening, phlebotomy, and record-keeping duties associated with whole-blood, autologous, directed, therapeutic, testing services, and research projects.
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures to ensure blood products are collected within quality standards set forth by regulatory agencies, including the FDA.
  • Assist supervisors in verifying and completing daily paperwork.
  • Alert supervisors to any problems or concerns related to equipment, venipuncture, donor questions/issues, or equipment performance.
  • Continuously assess donor needs throughout the donation process, including evaluating and treating donor reactions.
  • Educate donors on blood fact information, such as donation frequency and the need for blood products.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent required; college classes a plus.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
  • Reliable transportation and a working telephone required.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
