Structural Steel Welder Opportunity at Met-Con, Inc.

Position Overview:

This position requires the skilled welding of structural steel within our manufacturing facility. Our projects involve a variety of structures, including building frameworks and other components. The ideal candidate should have proficiency in welding, especially in vertical and overhead positions.

  • Welding of structural steel elements as specified in technical drawings and indicated by welding symbols
  • Achievement and maintenance of required welding certifications
  • Conducting visual inspections to ensure the accuracy of welded structural components
  • Safe operation of machinery such as overhead cranes, air arc tools, grinders, magnetic drills, and other relevant equipment
  • Clear communication to uphold quality standards and project completion
  • Execution of tasks in compliance with safety regulations
  • Maintaining a tidy and organized workspace, including responsibilities like cleaning, disposal of scrap materials, and other production-related activities

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a welding skills assessment
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in steel fabrication
  • Previous experience operating overhead cranes
  • Preferred possession of 2G/3G welding certification
  • High School Diploma or GED as a minimum educational requirement
