About the Role

The Structural Engineering Manager will lead the structures discipline in Southern California, overseeing multiple engineers in designing, reviewing, and winning new structures work. This key leadership position at RailPros will interface with project managers and technical discipline managers, providing technical leadership, developing new business, and ensuring adherence to the RailPros Quality Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strong leadership and effective management of the structural engineering discipline.
  • Foster positive client relations and effective teaming among staff and departments.
  • Develop new business opportunities and lead proposal efforts for structures work.
  • Lead and perform structures project work.
  • Implement the Quality Program in the structures discipline.
  • Assess resource requirements for projects and allocate the right talent.
  • Forecast staffing needs and oversee the hiring process.
  • Provide mentoring and career development opportunities for staff.
  • Promote employee engagement and ensure a positive work environment.
  • Facilitate internal and external training opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
  • 10+ years prior structural engineering experience required.
  • 3+ years railroad and transit structures design experience, including accelerated bridge construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and guidelines.
