This position serves as a pivotal leader in delivering patient care, utilizing the nursing process within the guidelines of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. Responsibilities include effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members while being accountable for quality patient outcomes. This role requires sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in all interactions, along with active participation in initiatives aimed at achieving the strategic goals of the unit and department. Professional responsibility and accountability for one's own practice are essential, as is alignment with the company's nursing philosophy.

Educational Requirements

Required: Registered nurse diploma.
Preferred: Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.

Work Experience

Required: None.

Certifications

Required: Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process effectively in patient care delivery.
  • Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies tailored to the diverse requirements of patients, families, and other groups.
  • Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (both human and fiscal) effectively, serving as a leader and collaborator on the interdisciplinary team.
  • Leverage data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and foster change for optimal outcomes.
  • Embrace behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale while contributing to the nursing profession's advancement.
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, ensuring respect for privacy and appropriate communication styles.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

Physical and Environmental Demands

The essential physical functions of this role include (but are not limited to) frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force.
