Ochsner Health System is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Medical Surgical team on a PRN basis. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to assigned patients, including administering medications, performing vital signs, and documenting patient information.
- Collaborate with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop strategies to address these needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- IV Therapy Credentials (preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
The incumbent will work in a fast-paced patient care environment, with frequent exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for long periods is required.
