Sanitation Specialist

T. Marzetti Company is a leading manufacturer and marketer of specialty food products for the retail and foodservice markets. Our portfolio includes well-known brands such as Marzetti, New York Bakery, and Sister Schuberts, as well as exclusive license agreements for Olive Garden dressings, Chick-fil-A sauces, and Buffalo Wild Wings sauces.

We are seeking a highly reliable and detail-oriented Sanitation Specialist to join our team at our Millersburg Plant. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment, ensuring compliance with quality, food safety, and HACCP standards.

1. Maintain daily and weekly cleaning schedules to ensure a clean and organized production area.
2. Document daily waste reports to track and improve our waste management process.
3. Clean and inspect equipment, including the flour sifter, mixer, cutter, pre-dryer, finish dryer, and storage dryers, using proper GMPs.
4. Mop floors, clean bathrooms, and clean and mop the lunchroom on a weekly basis.
5. Sweep the production area daily to maintain a safe and clean environment.
6. Follow GSOs and other policies designed to improve safety and quality.
7. Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and HACCP support programs, and assure conformity to all company, customer, and government standards in the work area.
8. Burn dryers as scheduled to maintain a clean and efficient production process.
9. Ensure compliance with preventive controls as laid out in the Food Safety Plan.

1. Must be dependable, reliable, and able to work independently.
2. Have the ability to keep the plant clean and orderly.
3. Must be able to withstand heat and lift 50 pounds.
4. Must be flexible with start and end times.
5. Must be physically fit and able to fit into tight spaces.

This is a 2nd shift position that requires working in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment, and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap. The noise level in the plant is loud, and SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists), and uniforms are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards.
