The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast is dedicated to delivering exceptional out-of-school experiences that empower youth, particularly those in need, to achieve high school graduation and develop a roadmap for their future, while fostering good character, citizenship, and healthy living.
ROLE SUMMARY:
This position is accountable for managing a diverse array of programs within a specific Club, including Education, Leadership Development, Arts, Health & Life Skills, and Sports & Recreation. Responsibilities include planning, developing, implementing, supervising, and assessing programs and their staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and manage the administration of Club programs and activities that align with Youth Development Outcomes.
- Set program objectives that reflect the organization's goals and mission.
- Oversee daily program operations to ensure adherence to established standards and objectives.
- Encourage member participation across various program areas, providing guidance and constructive feedback to enhance skill development.
- Occasionally operate Club vehicles as needed.
- Engage with parents regarding member and Club matters.
- Supervise, mentor, and train all Club personnel.
- Drive successful program development and participation, leading to increased membership and daily attendance.
- Establish and uphold program goals that prioritize member health and safety.
- Ensure staff effectively communicate program standards and maintain a safe, well-equipped environment.
- Continuously evaluate Club programs to ensure they meet member needs and reflect their diverse backgrounds.
- Manage program expenditures within the approved budget.
- Delegate and oversee tasks assigned to volunteers and staff, providing ongoing feedback and performance evaluations.
- Identify and facilitate training and development opportunities for volunteers and staff.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on activities, participation, achievements, and any issues encountered.
- Ensure optimal performance from all program staff and volunteers.
- Enhance the visibility of Club programs through effective communication of schedules, events, and promotional materials.
- Participate in fundraising initiatives.
- Assist with the daily food program under the direction of the Club Director, including meal distribution and cleanup.
- May oversee special events and programs as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a similar organization, focusing on planning and supervising youth activities.
- Must obtain necessary certifications within six months of employment.
- Strong leadership skills with an understanding of group dynamics.
- Proven organizational, staff management, and project oversight capabilities.
- Experience working with youth and knowledge of youth development principles.
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic, positive attitude, high energy, and adaptability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects alongside daily responsibilities.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications required.
- Valid State Driver's License, eligible to operate Club vehicles as per insurance requirements.
TRAVEL:
Minimal travel is anticipated for this role.
