We are seeking a highly skilled RN Education Coordinator to join our team at Mercyhealth. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing education and orientation programs for our Nursing Entity.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement education programs to meet the needs of our nursing staff
- Collaborate with unit leadership to create an annual calendar of planned educational offerings
- Conduct periodic educational needs assessments and develop programs based on identified needs
- Identify clinical learning needs through observation, staff meetings, and unit-based data
- Enhance partner growth through promoting clinical ladder level advancement and attainment of national certification
- Assist partners in portfolio development and attaining education required to achieve national specialty certification
- Participate in unit-based meetings, sharing upcoming learning opportunities and identified needs within the department
- Implement innovative instructional methods to meet the educational needs of all nursing department personnel
- Coordinate outside consultants and trainers who conduct training on specific topics
- Maintain class evaluations of instructors, consultants, and trainers
- Assist directors and clinical nurse specialists in maintaining unit bulletin boards
- Obtain CEUs for programs as appropriate
- Collaborate with others to provide monthly newsletters
- Facilitate Evidence-Based Practice initiatives by providing resources and direction to nurses and dissemination of other entity research and best practice initiatives
- Assist in coordinating education as requested to all components of the health system
- Participate as a member of the Education Team for house-wide education and dissemination of information
- Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Specialists and system education coordinators in coordinating annual nursing documentation and skills fair
- Plan and host unit-based skills validations as appropriate to the department
- Coordinate and participate in teaching programs as appropriate for areas of expertise
- Participate in writing and updating policies/procedures as appropriate
- Maintain records for mandatory certifications of staff as appropriate for their units
- BSN from an accredited BSN Completion Program required
- MSN preferred
- Two or more years RN experience, or one or more years RN experience in area of specialty
- Licensed as an RN in state of practice
- Approved BLS certification required within 90 days
- Other certification per unit requirements

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
