We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist 1 to join our rehabilitation department at Jackson West Medical Center. As a Physical Therapist 1, you will be responsible for administering physical therapy treatments to patients with a wide range of disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat each patient according to their specific needs, considering diagnosis, age, functional status, and previous medical history.
- Establish and implement effective physical therapy treatment plans, modifying them as patient status changes.
- Document patient evaluation, daily progress notes, patient care plans, and weekly progress notes in the medical chart.
- Participate as an active rehabilitation team member, attending rounds and family conferences, and interacting with patients and staff in a professional and organized manner.
- Accurately measure patients, order, and perform check-out of wheelchairs and other physical therapy equipment for patient use in a timely and cost-conscious manner.
- Prepare and instruct patients in written home physical therapy programs, developing age-specific patient education materials and/or classes as required.
- Demonstrate competence in the safe and effective use of therapeutic equipment, developing and maintaining Management by Objectives with the unit Assistant Chief.
- Attend and participate in unit, department, and mandatory Rehabilitation Center and hospital in-services to ensure appropriate understanding and knowledge of policies and procedures related to patient and employee safety issues.
- Valid Florida license as a Physical Therapist required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy and completion of a required internship program required.
Job function requires extended standing or walking, carrying objects weighing 21 to 50 pounds, and lifting or moving objects weighing 51 to 100 pounds with the use of appropriate devices. Jobs in this group require frequent visual acuity to perform activities related to extended use of computers.
