Position Overview

Role Summary

The primary objective of this role is to deliver both clinical and administrative support within an outpatient care environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and perform venipuncture, ensuring adherence to current pharmacological standards for both adult and pediatric patients.
  • Provide fundamental patient care, taking into account the unique needs based on age and developmental stages.
  • Prepare for patient consultations by rooming patients, recording vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, respiration), and gathering patient medical history.
  • Conduct waived testing and collect specimens as necessary.
  • Engage positively with internal and external clients, exceeding their expectations to deliver the highest quality of service.
  • Review and prepare medical charts and quality measures in anticipation of patient visits.
  • Ensure examination rooms are properly set up daily, maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Screen patients without appointments and relay medical information to the appropriate healthcare providers.
  • Address inquiries from patients, pharmacies, hospitals, and physicians via telephone, fax, and email.
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments as required.
  • Complete all assigned administrative tasks and patient case management within the electronic record system by the end of the business day.
  • Practice standard universal precautions, including proper hand hygiene, while caring for patients and administering medications.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must effectively perform all essential duties and responsibilities. The following qualifications are essential:

Education and Experience
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program (diploma or certificate).
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant through successful completion of the AMT Certification exam.
Additional Qualifications
  • Willingness to work late evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to travel to various clinic locations as required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory.
