The Fresh Market Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to join our team as the Kitchen and Food Service Director. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading and managing our kitchen operations, ensuring that our guests receive an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and food preparation personnel.
- Develop and implement menus, recipes, and food preparation procedures to ensure high-quality food products and exceptional customer service.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and receiving of food and supplies, ensuring that we maintain a high level of food safety and quality.
- Collaborate with our store management team to achieve sales and profitability goals, while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure that all kitchen operations are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including food safety and sanitation standards.
- Develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide exceptional customer service and prepare high-quality food products.
- Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and other expenses, ensuring that we maintain a high level of profitability.
- 5+ years of experience as a front-of-house and/or back-of-house restaurant manager, with a proven track record of success in leading and managing kitchen operations.
- Proven oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, management, and guests.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in culinary arts, food science, nutrition, or hotel/restaurant management preferred.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal food and health department requirements, with the ability to ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and vacation work, as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in culinary arts, food science, nutrition, or hotel/restaurant management.
- Retail, culinary, and/or grocery experience, with a proven track record of success in leading and managing kitchen operations.
- Production planning software experience, with the ability to effectively manage inventory, ordering, and receiving of food and supplies.
- Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself, exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Ability to spend long periods of time on feet and stand or walk without a break, as required by law.
- Ability to wear approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment, as required.
